Juniper Reference

Hi All,

Our company will slowly be migrating from Cisco to Juniper. Im new to Juniper and would want to learn more. I started reading Juniper Network Reference Guide by Thomas A. Thomas. But im afraid that this material is too fast paced for me. Meaning you have to have a background in Juniper in order to understand it fully.

So that being said, any good reading materials out there for newbies like me?

Thanks,

Yehey

Re: Juniper Reference

I would recommend the O'Reilly books on Juniper - there is Junos Security, Junos Enterprise Switching and Junos Enterprise Routing. There is also an older book Junos Cookbook.

Excellent books and depending on your area of emphasis you can choose the appropriate selection(s).

Re: Juniper Reference

A good place to start is the Day One Series of books that are availabe for download or hard copy.

In addition to the excellent O'Reilly books Kevin mentions, there are others on specific topics that you can see here.

The Fast Track program gives a series of intro materials pulled from the labs and course slides.

And the JUNOS as a Second language program is designed for people coming from Cisco to Juniper.

Re: Juniper Reference

The JNCIA Study Guide was one of four books published by Sybex - there was one book for each of the four tests,JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP & JNCIE. They are excellent books in regards to the Junos OS for routing. Outdated in terms of the enhancements of the last several years in security, switching, etc.

They used to actually be downloadable from the Juniper site but I could not find them when I did a quick search this morning.
